A great opportunity for instrumental players and singers with some basic jazz experience, as well as more advanced players, to play and learn under of the tutelage of the UK’s best jazz educators in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Bringing a wealth of skills and experience, the tutors will lead a day of exciting sessions, aiming to strengthen and extend your range and confidence with the fundamentals of jazz ensemble playing.
The workshop will cover rhythm, dynamics, interpretation, comping, improvisation, ensemble playing, interaction, and soloing. Vocalists will spend the first part of the day as a group with Brigitte exploring vocal range along with stylistic, rhythmic and harmonic awareness.
There will be two morning and two afternoon sessions, culminating in a workshop space where singers and players will work together to produce great music. The workshop will run from 9am to 6pm, after which there will be an opportunity to socialise in a local hostelry.

Your Tutors: Flavio and Brigitte
Flavio Li Vigni, originally from Palermo, Italy, is Head of Jazz at Morley College London, where he teaches Jazz History and leads the Morley Big Band. Flavio has given workshops in several European countries and in China and works regularly with the educational team of Jazz at Lincoln Centre. He is a tutor on the Guildhall School of Music and Drama jazz summer school.
Brigitte Beraha is one of the most creative vocalists and composers on the UK scene, singing in a wide range of live and recording projects, with an impressive rostra international jazz artists. Singing with or without words, she is renowned for fearlessly testing the limits of the voice as instrument, and captivating audiences with her subtle and evocative interpretations of jazz, latin, and classical songs. Brigitte teaches jazz vocals at the Guildhall School of Music, Trinity Laban Conservatoire, and the Royal Welsh College of Music.
