JAZZ AT THE LORD HAIG

You will love this band, and it's free entry, so come join the party!

Jon Owen was the singer and writer for the Global Village Trucking Company, a band known for playing in parks, prisons, festivals and a nine and a half hour set at Thames Polytechnic during a student sit in. They were followed around by the BBC to make a documentary of their music and lifestyle. And then pursued again many years later to see if they had survived. This led to  Glastonbury and other festival appearances. Recently too, their recordings, live and studio have been remastered and put out on the Cherry Label on the CD collection, ‘Smiling Revolution’.

Over the years Jon has collaborated with the always in demand Keen brothers, Gabriel - piano and saxophone, and Alex, bass and played a music very much of their own style. Jazz, blues and Latin with a spot of minimalist inflectiousness... all wrapped up in some old and some new songs to smile, raise eyebrows and dance to.

JON OWEN - Guitar and vocals

GABRIEL KEEN - Piano and saxophone

ALEX KEEN - Bass

WILLIAM HAYTER - Drums
